So....

We have all said it and we all know that profit is the goal of the record companies and they would have told us that from day one... it's business... and its not evil. These practices are the end result of a successful strategy set forth by businessmen in our own economic system and situation. This system and situation have reached a point where any sort of 'artistic ethic' does not factor in to the turning of a profit and in fact that sed 'artistic ethic', while potentially wildly successful, is a risky investment. An investment which remains hard to quantify and so is not only a risky investment but an investment which also embodies a larger aspect of the unknown. These sort of investments are not the type made by businesses in need of turning a quarterly profit to ensure their own survival. These types of investments are emergent from greater civilization... to whom growth and change are a muse and to whom the greater aesthetics of human life are not calculable but will always be inescapable; because these people, all people, ARE the human condition.

We feel that the emergence of a new sound in the music scene, which attracts a sufficient amount of people as to qualify that sound for mass production and distribution by record companies, can now be a terrible thing... because that company will then sign every thing walking which will consent to being that same sound reincarnate (and somehow, usually very weakly, to be that same sound reincarnate but with... just a slightly different edge). This process destroys 'artistic ethic' by castrating the music scenes mechanisms for delivering an evolving sound by progressive and active musicians to a passive listener. We put up with this because having any distributive mechanism is better than having none.

But we no longer without options... We here, are the entrepreneurs of the revitalization of new music world wide. We here, are the forefront of desensitized listeners and therefor we embody the greatest driving and productive force of that which is new... of that music which is reactionary and alive, not prepackaged and laid in freezers so that it might rot after it has been purchased and not before. But most importantly, and indeed we do it now, WE HERE can communicate our thoughts and ideas with impunity to the world at large. We only need to tell them where to look. We here, on the internet, must work together to spread our own livelihoods and our own music wide enough that people who want it will know where to get it. The possibilities are endless and language, either when spoken or when used to build the very fabric of our communication and distrobution , is no longer a boundary.

Following is a message from 'Nadia Pero,' A self proclaimed "Dirge Pop" rock group based out of Utah and Connecticut.

Thanks to everybody who came out to Why Sound Saturday night. You made all the difference... we love you all.

This show was certainly our last show in Utah for a while, however Nadia Pero is by no means done. Nadia Pero is and has always been a three way collaboration between 'Full Metal Lizard' (Jeff Fullmer), 'J-Dub' (Jacob Bryner), and 'Portrait' (Jake Johnson). NadiaPero.com remains the news headquarters for all three of these projects as well as future Nadia Pero shows ands recordings.

Drop us some comments on the site, we would love to hear what you thought of the show... from now on NadiaPero.com will be our base of operation, and since the members will now be spread out, a way to disburse new music and show dates. Please follow the blog to stay up to date with Nadia Pero news and the more you interact with the site with comments etc.... the more we will integrate your comments and communicate back. I have set up the site so that we can count the visits... this traffic will be one of the sole determinants for us landing a spot on tour in the future. With the exposure we have seen so far, its looking like Nadia Pero (and the subgroups within) will have a very nice future.

Chinese Scientists Engineer the World's Smartest Rat

In a development that gives Acme Labs and NIMH a run for their money, scientists in Georgia and China have collaborated to create the world's smartest rat. The genetically engineered rat, Hobbie-J, over-expresses a gene that regulates neuron communication, greatly enhancing the rat's ability to navigate mazes and remember toys.
This new rat confirms a decade-old experiment run by the same scientists that increased the intelligence of a mouse by changing the same gene. The gene, called NR2B, regulates the pores on neurons. By increasing pore activity, the scientists effectively increased processing speed of the rat's brain.
The researchers hope this discovery will lead to drugs that target NR2B specifically. Diseases like Alzheimer's affect NR2B expression, so a drug that causes the gene to over-express could counteract the affects of the disease. Similarly, a regular person could conceivably take the drug to become even smarter.
There are upper limits for the drug, though. While it can make a rat better at navigating a maze, it cannot grant the rat new intelligences beyond the known limits of rat comprehension. Or, at least that's what the rat wants us to think as it tries to take over the world.

Much Needed Update!

Hey everybody, I've been running into a few people that have been sayin things like "it's to bad you guys broke up" or "hey dude, when's your next show?" so I figured it would be helpful to get an official statues of the band out there so people aren't confused. Right now our lovely drummer Jake Johnson is back in Connecticut livin the life with his family and working hard so he can vacation out here again (hopefully). Jeff and I (guitar/bass) are busy with school and Jeff is getting ready to be done with school this semester as I prepare to go teach english in China for a bit, this may mean that there will be no shows in the immediate future. Jeff and I when there's free time attempt to find different percussionists so we can have a tempo to practice with and potentially play a few shows with just to stay warm with our instruments, but unfortunately free time is a rarity these days.
Me and Jeff are constantly working on recordings and we'll try to get those up for you so you can have new content even if we're not able to play live for a while, thanks for your continued support, and as always let us know what you think of the CD, and other such things.

In other news... more semi-quality demos are on the move. We now have a 13 track demo available to all who want a copy.. including the mildly stimulating never befor heard tracks ¨Parrot Ramifications, Stutter Muffin, Visitor (Brittle Teeth), and Santas List!!!>>> We threw on a bunch of the good old live uns from back in November as well, just for mediocore measure. As always, Nadia Pero demo CDs and Nadia Pero MP3 loaded e-mails are free... free to the masses... Not ¨Music for the masses¨ however.... as I harbor a deep and lasting fear of Depeche Modes mighty leigon of lawyers... However Jerry is tell me that he can make them all go away... How about a blend. FREE MUSIC FOR THE MASSES!
